About hide rating a topic
I would Like to bring to the public the issue of hiding the rating of a topic to vote for him. Problems associated with this has already been discussed. I want to voice what else could it interfere with (and actively prevents me personally), and how to solve it.
I don't "hang out" on habré. I come here every 3-4 days to read the fresh and the most useful. Usually browse the main page, top and japaleno. I briefly browsing the topic, focusing on the name of the topic and on (! attention!) assessment. I am convinced that the topics are not gaining enough pros are not worth my attention. I spend my time only on the most necessary. I can't read everything on all topics. I read each one, most exciting. If I don't want to miss topics on a specific topic — I subscribe to the appropriate collective blog and read abrahante.
Which gives the orientation of the assessment? What topics are gaining a lot of pros?
— professional-quality articles
— heated discussions of recent events (in the world/Habra/in IT)
something valuable from an artistic (moral/poetic) point of view, for example parable
— every garbage
As can be seen, even tops with a high rating, my brain then has to filter again, but it is not so difficult. The main thing — the trash has been filtered out.
So, what I'm saying? It all depends in time. Before, I was missing the mouse scrolling and quickly spun down the page. The choice of topics to read took no more than 5 minutes. Now I fucking have to poke the " + " button under each topic to find out how it stirred the people. Because it is much faster than reading the first paragraph and understand what will happen there. To be honest, all of this (poke and wait for server response for each topic) pulled up!
What I would suggest. To make the profile field "display evaluation unread topics", which by default is turned off. Thus, the desire to focus on is a conscious decision of every habrachelovek. And each will choose their mode of existence habré.
PS Can you consider me a lemming and charbydon, but this method of filtration really saved my time. On habré I hardly vote. The whole point is that I used to spend on Habr 20 minutes, now — about one and a half hours. I better news2 read start...
UPD: In the comments, abrowser skifs proposed: "Perhaps we should make a choice either to see the assessment topics, but not be able to vote for them, or not to see and have the opportunity to vote. And objectivity does not suffer and it will be easier".
I think that's IT!
